Jed’s Maple Open House 2007
Almost 1000 members of the extended Jed’s ‘family’ joined us for our Maple Open House weekend in 2007. We had visitors from Rhode Island, Cape Cod and as far away as Florida! We had beautiful weather, including a few inches of wet snow Sunday morning.
Saturday we were joined by the crew of Late Night Saturday with Tim Kavanaugh – they filmed footage for an episode that aired in April. We did cooking demonstrations this year (be sure to check our recipe section for some new ones!). And, we even had music! Steve Rapson and his wife, Rosemary, joined us from the Boston area. Steve played and sang as well as giving kids mini guitar lessons.
As usual, we had lots of yummy maple products out for tasting. In fact, Aunt Sue and Amy cooked the entire week before the Open House to get ready for everyone. We served maple dumplings, sugar on snow and Maple Mudd Sundaes. Our specialty foods were out for tasting as well. People even got to vote for their favorite Jed’s product. Steve taught his very popular Junior Sugarmaker Class and word is that everyone who attended aced their quiz!
The weekend wouldn’t be possible without the help and work of many, many volunteers. To all of them, a very special, very sweet THANK YOU from the Jed’s Maple Crew (Steve, Amy, Jed and Jonah).
